On 29-30 September 2026, as part of the Welcome Week at Lodz University of Technology, more than 140 international students, including incoming Erasmus+ participants, took part in a series of interactive workshops organized within the #edu4sdgs project.

The workshops addressed key themes of the project, including sustainable development, social impact, inclusion, emotional intelligence, and active citizenship.

  • Challenge-Based Learning: Solving Real-World Problems for a Better Future, led by Daniel Franco (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), introduced students to collaborative approaches for tackling sustainability challenges and developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.
  • Decision Architecture Workshop: Discover Your Systemic Diversity Profile, led by Rasma Pīpiķe (Riga Technical University), helped participants understand how different perspectives influence decision-making, teamwork, and inclusive collaboration.
  • From University to Social Impact: Design Your Career Path, led by Catarina Alves (Welfare and Development Association, ABD), encouraged students to explore how their studies, values, and skills can contribute to positive social change and meaningful career pathways.
  • Students as Changemakers: Critical Evaluation for Sustainable Futures, led by Lina Landinez (ACEEU), developed participants' critical thinking skills through the analysis of entrepreneurial failures and peer-based evaluation activities.
  • Understanding Emotions: Building Emotional Awareness and Empathy, led by Rafał Nykiel and Katarzyna Buss-Nykiel (Team Coaching), enabled students to better understand their emotions, recognize the needs behind them, and build more respectful and empathetic relationships.

Through hands-on learning, reflection, and intercultural exchange, participants strengthened competencies that will help them contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive, and socially responsible future.

The workshops also supported the dissemination of the #edu4sdgs project by introducing international students to its mission and values. By encouraging participants to reflect on sustainability challenges, social responsibility, and their own capacity to make a difference, the activities inspired a new generation of changemakers to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in their studies, careers, and everyday lives.
